Sparked by a worldwide pandemic in 2020 and fueled by the passion for creating strong, powerful female leads, Jenn Ruzumna and Lisa Every started weaving the story of strangers, friends, and generations that find themselves in the same park on the same park bench. Working with Macha Theatre Works and Amy Poisson, and previous director and mentor of Happy, Happy, Happy… and The Fifth Wave, they began to craft their third world premiere together.

Once in a production-ready position, The Park was chosen as one of seven world premiere plays in The 2024 Distillery New Works Festival. With a live audience talkback and a honed script, The Park was ready for production.

In the fall of 2024, The Park premiered at Seattle Public Theater, a Co-production with Macha Theatre Works.
