A. Rey Pamatmat
A. Rey Pamatmat’s play Blood in Your Blood was developed at the Sundance Theatre Lab in Morocco, and his short play The Electric Harvest was produced by Actors Theater of Louisville’s New Play Project last season.
Currently, he is working on Safe, Three Queer Plays, a cycle which follows the seismic changes in Queer America in the fifteen years of a gay man of color’s life. Other productions include: House Rules (Ma-Yi Theatre Company), after all the terrible things I do (Milwaukee Rep, Huntington, AboutFace), Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them (Humana Festival, Company One, Actors Express), and Thunder Above, Deeps Below (Second Generation, Bindlestiff, Yale Cabaret). Short plays include: This is How It Ends (Summer Shorts, Humana Festival), Gratuitous Nudity… Bad Broccoli (Actors Theatre), Tilda Swinton Betrayed Us (Keen Company), Some Other Kid as part of New Black Fest’s Facing Our Truth, and Something in the Water as part of The Mysteries at The Flea. Rey is a recipient of the Hodder, PoNY, Princess Grace, and NYFA Fellowships and was co-Director of the Ma-Yi Writers Lab from 2014 – 18. He currently teaches at Cornish College of the Arts.
